Hi, my name is Ki and as a working mum of two children, I know how difficult the pressures of the daily juggle can be and how important it is to prioritise our own mental health and wellbeing. I started Awaken Hypnotherapy with the aim to support people in awakening their inner potential. You have the ability within yourself to overcome your personal challenges but your responses are deeply ingrained and those habits can be difficult to break. That's where I come in!
What I love about hypnotherapy is the wide range of issues that can be treated in a relatively short space of time, not to mention how relaxing, comforting and uplifting the experience is in itself. Who couldn't do with more relaxation in their life?
I have a Diploma in Hypnotherapy & Counselling Skills, an Advanced Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy, a degree in Psychology and over 13 years experience helping people deal with their internal barriers, particularly around stress and anxiety. I have extensive experience working with young people in a secondary and special school setting as a teacher and in a range of roles within pastoral care, safeguarding and leadership.
I am a member of The National Hypnotherapy Society, which is the only hypnotherapy organisation with a register that has been accredited by the Professional Standards Authority. I am fully insured and hold enhanced DBS clearance. I am also a graduate member of The British Psychological Society, meaning I am part of the UK's biggest community of psychologists with access to up to date training and research in the field of psychology, mental health and wellbeing.
All of this means I have the skills, experience and knowledge to support you in making lasting change.
Hypnotherapy involves deep relaxation and achieving a trance like state in order to access your subconscious mind. The subconscious is powerful and limitless but not under our conscious control but through hypnosis, it is possible to change unwanted feelings and behaviour and replace them with more positive beliefs and responses.
You are fully in control throughout hypnosis and cannot be made to do anything you do not want to do. Whilst we may think that we find moments of relaxation in our busy lives, this is often not the case and our brains usually remain highly alert and active. Hypnosis achieves a true state of deep relaxation and inner calm and most people feel refreshed and relaxed after their session. Add to this the fact that it can also help you to achieve your goals and it makes for a fantastic form of therapy.
Each session will be specifically tailored to you personally in order to ensure the greatest possible chance of success. If you are ready, willing and able to make positive change then hypnotherapy could very well be the answer. It is important to keep in mind that hypnotherapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix and as such, a "cure" can never be guaranteed. However, where a client is committed to change and wants things to improve then there is more chance of you achieving your desired results.
I run monthly group relaxation sessions, which are a great way to see what hypnotherapy is like and take time out to enjoy candlelight, music and soothing hypnosis.
Have a look at the booking page for the next available date.
My main clinic space is at Gracie B Salon. I see clients on Wednesday and Fridays during the day as well as weekday evenings. Limited weekend appointments can be arranged.
I also have the option of seeing you at West Bridgford Therapy Rooms.
If you prefer, your sessions can easily take place online, which is just as effective as face to face hypnotherapy.
